Yep. The same quarter note triplet feel at one point. Good ear!
This is so interesting. Thank you! I read that Vince Guaraldi was very influenced by Brazilian and Cuban music and rhythms. It always seemed like Cast Your Fate had a “Latin” feel.
yep. That's always an option :)

Ah. Yes, now I see what you and David are saying. Thank you. That’s very helpful.
What you say re. the sheet music actually makes more sense and better organizes the score. Are these not eighth note triplets? For counting purposes, I was thinking of the quarter notes as tied...
This is from Vince Guaraldi's incredibly beautiful Cast Your Fate to the Wind. Rather than learn it by ear, I'm wondering how you would count it. Thanks. Tim

I inadvertently put some nasty scratches into the top of my Northfield NFS-5 recently and wondering about cosmetic cover-up. Nitro finish. Any recommendations?
I’ve been playing Baroque music recently on my F style and started looking online casually at bowlbacks. I was favorably impressed at how reasonably priced they are (for the most part). But they...

I completed my first foray into classical music today, playing Vivaldi’s D major concerto (the first movement) with a keyboard (harpsichord setting), violin and cello. I’m looking for other pieces —...
Yes. i like that ty
Is everything in this phrase -- including the sixteenth notes -- picked straight up and down? (sorry for the sideways).
So good!
I bought my Northfield in 2014, and the case is showing some wear. I’m considering a replacement that’s lighter than the plywood cases they supplied back then (and which incidentally doesn’t fit a...
Looking more closely at the music (when all else fails, right), it looks like it wants the first three measures played legato, which I would think means pull offs?
I'm tackling this for the first time (with the mandolin). I am assuming that all of the 32nd notes throughout the first movement are pulled off. And that in the 16th note legato phrase in measure 11...
Over the years the arms seem to have lost some of their tension and Tone Guard winds up twisted around and half off the mandolin. I was about to grab a pair of pliers and just pull the arms tighter,...
I agree that playing posture is huge. For years, when I was a beginner player, my posture was hunched over and just horrible. I also recently hurt my back with poor exercise technique. I'm paying...
Anybody have any thoughts about these? I've been experiencing lower back stiffness after practice sessions, despite stretching exercises, etc..
I called and they immediately offered to replace them with a new set of Gotohs at no cost. They explained that they used Schaller tuners back then, and they couldn't get Schaller to manufacture...
I've noticed cracks in all of the black tuner heads on my F5S (only 6 years old), emanating from the post and in two cases continuing almost to the end of the head. The tuners are working fine right...
