I don't know if there is such thing as a "Jazz" Mandolin, but I have a G110 Rigel, and it is the hottest looking mandolin ever.

There is tab for the cello suite available on mandozine at the moment. If you are interested in the music for the 6 solo violin sonatas and partitas, the sheet music to that can be picked up at any...
Go to my site, I have it in standard notation (unfortunately it's not the easiest to read... sorry)

Send me a PM and I will "help you find them" (plus any other chris thile 'bootleg' recording known to man.)
I think I'll just post the videos, and if they ask me to take them down. I will.
For a while now I've been teaching my students a good selection of tunes. Chris Thile stuff in particular seems to be the big hit, so I've tabbed out a lot of his songs. I was thinking of making...

I can't think of a more informative article to what I was asking. Thanks so much!
I've been playing with some new chords (since I've been exploring more funk and jazz stuff). One 'problem' I've encountered recently, is that certain chords can involve more than 4 notes, which of...
Thile tunes and Bach's sonatas and partitas for solo violin.
Does this work?
Ya the one I'm thinking of is in Dm, and in my music book it's spelled 'Gigue', lol.

Rigel. Best type of mandolin out there PERIOD.
(Excluding Dudenbostels..)
Right on jbmando, EVERYONE knows Beatles tunes. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
I prefer to learn licks from tune solos themselves rather than just on their own, as I think I get a better taste of their context, as well as learning a new complete solo if I don't feel like...
I haven't learnt any thing else off of the How To Grow a Woman From The Ground album yet, but I can take a listen, chord structures of songs are a lot quicker for me to learn than melodies =-)
... on a slightly random note, is the Giga in Gm or Dm? Now that I think of it, I believe it's in Dm, unless I'm thinking of the wrong piece lol
Go to www.umich.edu/~asleep I have the music posted there
The Bach Giga in Gm piece that you've played is a nice piece for mandolin. In fact, any of bach's sonatas and partitas for solo violin are worth taking a look at. You might also consider Bach's...
Chris Thile
Kym Warner
Andy Leftwich
I don't have the tune tabbed out, but I have it memorized. If the tab isn't available on mandozine send me a message and I can write out the tab real quick for you.
