If this is true, that's huge news. Hopefully we hear something official soon.

Totally agree, but thought the progression made a lot of sense.
Check out, How to Play Mandolin in 14 Days: Daily Lessons for Absolute Beginners (Play Music in 14 Days) by Tristan Scroggins. I tried at least 3 other books before finding this one. It was by far...
I had an Ellis A5 Special and now have an F5 Tradition. Both are fantastic. Nothing but great things to say about the whole Ellis and Pava team. Hope all is well.
Looks that way. Lot's of photos with the F on his Instagram.

Just call and ask.
For something that sounds AND feels different, I'd recommend D’Addario EFW74. I really liked the tone plus it's a cool bonus that they require less pressure to fret and are smooth for slides.
If we're looking at the same ad, it looks like it's had a fun life so far. Lots of "patina" for a year.
It really does! I had pretty high hopes and it's exceeded all of my expectations.
Almost a year to the day and I'm officially off the list. Well worth the wait!

I'll second Pinegrove Leather. Great stuff. Shipping was faster than expected too.
Nice to see the before/after. Lovely!!
What pick are you using?
Right now Sylvan is the place to be! What a great selection. Did you happen to play the Ellis A? If so, would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for taking the time to put this together!
I don't disagree with a lot of what you're saying about JIT in general, but I'm not sure it really applies here. The lower priced instruments produced oversees like The Loar, Eastman, Kentucky, etc....
From what I'm seeing, demand is extremely high. New and used instruments from top makers usually sell within days. Even instruments in the over $10k category typically sell within a week.
Check...
It looks like Ellis mandolins are still selling FAST! Any newcomers to the owners list or waitlist?
Might as well just let this thread die. The original post was from over a year ago and the OP never even chimed in so probably just wanted to vent.
Check out the photo MikeEdgerton posted above.
I’ve had a few knobs come loose on the A versions but had no idea how much the engraving had changed. What a bummer. The older ones were really something.
Congrats!!
