I think it might impart some overtone properties. When I thump my mando with the “Florida “ I hear a tone. Mine is scooped, where material has been removed to give more pick clearance.
Kentucky Mandolin, First Day in Town, Garfield’s Blackberry Blossom, Dusty Miller, Lonesome Fiddle Blues
Those are all similar to J Ridge...
I don’t have any in my quiver like Midnight...I’ll add...

Wow, what is going on with that mandolin back? Was that etched with high voltage? Did you buy it? That is the most fantastic mandolin back I’ve yet seen! WOW!
You beat me to it...I was fixing to write about how much I like my PEEK Apollo pick. I got shape A, in 1mm and 1.25mm. They are what I’ve been seeking for years. Better than BlueChips. If they...
Yes. Comfortable and functional.
Bruce Weber, Montana Mandolin Authority.
Get a Peterson Strobe tuner, then you can either be very in tune, or as discussed slightly outa tune.
I have two mandolins with the metal bar Brekke bridges. They are both rich, loud, fully responsive, lush.
If they get louder, that might not be desirable...
Will I be blown away by a...
Perhaps you lose picks because they are no good and your subconscious is making way for a quality product :mandosmiley:
