I get this too, on my left ring finger. In addition to many years of mandolin playing, i also play Irish flute and i'm constantly using that finger to cut (quick grace note) all the other notes below...

My Janish A5 has a radius fb and, after i got it setup at Gibson, has a really low action and plays like butter. I've had flat fb's that have had really high action, so i think it's more in the setup...
