    and for high end mandolin Gail Hester in Poulsbo, Steve Smith in KY or Cat Fox in VT. I haven't had Ms. Hester work on any instruments but she has sterling reputation, the other 2 are perfectionists.

    violins: Lasley or David Stone... Mandos, if ask to speak to the tech at Emerald, Amer Music or GC Roosevelt, they're all named "Tyler!" and they're all excellent if overworked.
