    A5 style had the 12th fret on the neck, there are builders making oval hole A's in the same format.. Just not Eastman I suppose..

    I got my 1922 A4 re-fretted at Portland Fretworks ..
    It got a fingerboard leveling while the frets were off. $400. + new strings.

    the Tapastring vintage jack is 1/8" so will not need reaming out the tapered hole, as a 1/4" jack would ..
    Only down side is 1/8" is not as robust as 1/4" and you would need an 1/8" male to 1/4"...

    Not Necessarily .. being made of wood, and only finish applied on the outside , it swells in warm humidity & contracts when cooler & dryer..

    the winding wire is silvered copper like on E-A-D strings on a classical guitar .

    just a steel core A & E are normal steel medium gages.
