    Re: Shure sm57

Mason-Red, any chance you and one of the people you play with could meet at a local store to try some nice while you both play? My local store would have done that for someone on a mic hunt. If so...

@Brent Hutto did you ever get this sorted out? I'm curious about what helped you.

    Re: Reasons to avoid practicing

The worst! Iíve had paper cuts that hurt worse than any splinter or larger injury! I suggest a week off and a pain killer of your choice. Mine is a couple inuprophen and a hard cider. But you may...

    Re: Reasons to avoid practicing

I gave it a good witch hazel soak but it was a rude awakening at midnight when I was half asleep. Weirdest splinter I ever got a bit of pain but I have stunned a toe worse and today you would never...

    Re: Reasons to avoid practicing

Fretting hand and today you would never know it happened. No pain at all, maybe just a bit numb in a spot or two on the nail but the fingertip feels fine, and looking at it if you didn't know the...

    Re: Reasons to avoid practicing

I had a legitimate reason today. About midnight last night I got up and on my way, through the house, I stepped on something in a doorway so I bet over to pick it up. Reaching down my fingernail hit...

    Re: Shop questions

Blower wow! I try to get guys in our shops to stop using airlines and and such but I see why they want to. I can’t do that at the moment because my demolished kitchen is my workshop!
  11. Re: What is the difference between a trill and a hammer-on?

Sounds like a worthy goal to accomplish this.
  12. Re: What is the difference between a trill and a hammer-on?

Can you trill a chord or double stop?

    Re: Tax Day Cometh

It seems there is a new law starting next year. Don't quote me on this but as I am recalling I think it says places like ebay and reverb will now be taxed for any sales of 600$ over the year. Now how...

Re: Left Hand on Neck: Palm or Thumb

In my picture you can see light through the area between the neck and my hand there is very little pressure on the thumb at all. It provides some support for harder chords, ones I find harder.

    Re: TI Single Strings

I think strings and beyond or just strings sell singles. Might have to contact them for mandola strings though.

    Re: Shop questions

Every section of my house is geo thermal. In the winter months depending on the room, it is between 68 and 74, in the summer pretty much the same but the rooms that are cooler in the summer are...

    Re: Shop questions

I know what I would like in it based on what I have and the larger projects I am doing. Maybe I am overthinking it, if I was building someone else's shop I would have already finished but for my own...

Re: Left Hand on Neck: Palm or Thumb

196503196504That vid looks similar to how I hold mine. The neck does not go all the way down into the V of my thumb index finger area. It test more on the palm to finger jobs so there is light behind...

    Shop questions

I now have access to more room. To decide what to use and where I have a few questions. What are the things you like about your workshop and the things you dislike? What would you change if you could...

Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?

Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?

After comments here about them in another thread, I thought it was a good way to go to get my feet wet. Not a 3D CNC but functional and if you work on layers you can work some 3D objects. Once it...

    Re: Mating strings to mandolin

I guess I'm the odd guy out. I chased strings at first also but I settled in on a set and ran them a few years and for a change tried something new and found I liked it better. So I tend to stick...
