Don't do it. Or if you do don't square it off crudely, and add some stain to the wood so it doesn't have the color of my legs in February. There are a whole lot of ugly speed necks out there.

That's a good one. Something notable to me is how good Roland's rhythm playing sounds - you can really hear it in the mix.

I'd hunt around for the best A-5, new or used, I could get for 4K. While keeping an eye out for a Flatiron F...

Can you recall what you paid for it new, or can you find the price for construction of an Octave on the Old Wave website? I'd think that could be a ballpark starting point.

Greetings, Big Mon (A), Goldrush (A), and Billy in the Lowground (C) are three good ones I'd say.

That sliding 3rd part along (only played once) is so good it's almost bewildering.

Discovered this a while back and it's just so cool that I wanted to make sure others had seen it. Uploaded by Butch Robins. Really shows the continuous...

They play the 3rd part kind of sparingly.

This topic has been covered before and I always like to read the info. I think I'm in the monority in that I don't necessarily subscribe to the "you must pick it slow before you can pick it fast"...
The late Bill Bussmann (Old Wave mandolins) made some great A-ovals in your price range. They come up for sale on the cafe from time to time.

Oh no, Bill was awesome! I first met him at the Flagstaff Folk Festival around 2002. I was playing doghouse and Bill was there with his too that included an endpin perfectly fitted with a...
I've used Wegens exclusively for years. Best tone to my ears. I have the TF100 but only really use it for guitar when it needs to be as loud as possible (ALAP!), like in big jams or playing to a mic...
Something I always thought notable is the use of "East Virginia", which of course is simply the state of Virginia, also referred to as The Old Dominion. But this is used to contrast with West...
Dang, I was all set to go and our toddler had other plans. Hate I missed it.

Cool, I'll try for Monday for sure. I'll have my Duff A with me.
Hope to meet you,
Zack
Great, thanks for the intel Ruff. Will you be at either or both that week?
Thanks again,
Zack
Hi, just bumping this to see if anyone has any info on Lexington.
Cheers,

Greetings pickers, I'll be in Lexington KY Tues, Weds, Thurs the week of March 27th. Are there any regular bluegrass or oldtime jams in the city? And is the Red Slipper Lounge still going?!

I think that may be from the Homespun videos.

Hello there, does anyone know about how many Caltons were made in Canada? And do they all have serial numbers on the metal tags?
Thanks,

Thanks for your continued hard work Scott. I'll miss looking at the guitar ads but I get it.
