    Re: If You Use MuseScore

Depends on platform. I just opened it on my iPad, and ‘browse’ is one of the headers. On my computer, it opens to the ‘dashboard’ page, complete with search window and separate ‘browse’ header. ...

    Re: Sam knows all!!!

A recording made in a living room and evaluated on a handheld device is certainly not ideal. But he’s a great player on anything.

It’s a charity raffle, donate or not.

    Re: If You Use MuseScore

I haven't created any pdfs and wouldn't upload anyone else's, so I never noticed that feature. (I just found it). I have transposed other Musescore files.

I often search using google 'site...
  4. Re: Intermediate Mando - Good Mando to Step up to?

Ratliff Countryboys are a great step up. You'll go a long time before you 'outgrow' one. I certainly haven't.

    Re: If You Use MuseScore

I've only transposed tunes in Musescore format. I wasn't aware it could manipulate pdfs.

Re: How to practice Circle of 5ths

There is just the circle of fourths. It can be run in two directions. For everyone who, like you, insists that the *direction of dominance* is the "circle of fifths" there is at least one who...

    Re: Where’s the easy-does-it method?

At least you weren't being transported by the state:).

I didn't realize it was Orville's birthplace and resting place either.

    Re: MuseScore software

If you want to write, I believe you have to join. I think its $49/yr, (just checked, it’s $29) and maybe has a monthly rate as well. You can use it on a computer and a tablet for that price. It...
  10. Re: Looking for Down Yonder in standard notation or tabs

Down the TablEdit reader app. You’ll be good to go.
  11. Re: Looking for Down Yonder in standard notation or tabs

    Re: MuseScore software

You can search on the Musescore site by title or use a search engine with ‘title’ and Musescore. ‘All of me sheet music Musescore’.

For traditional tunes, traditionalmusic.co.uk has plenty of...

Re: Three string chords - good and bad?

    I'm sure you have.

And many finger all 4 notes, and only strike 2-3 strings. It's subtle.

Re: Three string chords - good and bad?

Except for bluegrass chopping, I’m using 3 fingers. I drop the root, and sometimes the fifth, when making chords with extensions. Three finger chord shapes are movable from the top 3 strings to the...

I am a Pilgrim, Doc Watson arrangement is a good tune.
  17. Re: Aaron Weinstein's New Apitius yorkville mandolin

Great as always. My left hand hurts just watching :)

It looks like the fingerboard markers are unusually placed and different than on his website. Was that a special request?

Poll: Re: Poll - Torrefied vs Natural

I don’t care at all what the top is as long as it’s a ‘normal’ tone wood. I’ve never heard anyone comment after hearing a particular material that they finally heard subtitles in the tune they’ve...
  23. Re: Buying a 1911 F2 w/ repaired neck crack?

Sort of depends on the price. $500, probably not an issue, $5000, different story.
  24. Re: Old Time Mandolin Workshop with Caleb Klauder
