    Re: Eastwood Mandolins

I own the Airline Map Mandola

    196868

I played it for about a year but then wandered away.
The really thin neck bothered me.
But it's a lot of fun to play.

Re: Mazas 12 Little Duets #1 Rondo

    Mazas! My boyhood friend.
My violin teacher and I spent many hours with him.

The mp3 sounds really good. Great job.

    Re: Today's favorite stomp box...

Honest a humble Graphic Equalizer pedal has been my best friend for years.

    Don't leave home without one.
Distortion and fuzz is not my thing.
    But I keep buying them!
    But lately a Boss AC-2...
  4. Re: Getting started with tenor, looking at an electric tenor

The Fanner "Jazzy Electric Uke" is really pretty.

    https://www.fannerelectricukulele.com/jazzy-electric-ukulele/

    Very tempting.

I've got a Bruce Wei 19" baritone uke converted to electric (by...

Re: Flatwounds on an Eastman MD315

As a former cellist I feel in love with the feel of flats also.

Your instrument will have the last say though.

Mine sounded very dull. Just string and pick. No wood.
After a few weeks I just...
  6. Re: Extract vocal and instrumental tracks from any audio

    Correction My comment was unclear.

You can now remove a single instrument from a track.
So ditch the lead and play along with the band or whatever you please.
  7. Re: Extract vocal and instrumental tracks from any audio

    LALAL.AI has been updated.

You can remove instrument tracks now as well as vocals.

    Now I'm getting interested.
  8. Re: Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator vs Boss AC-2 Acoustic Simulator

    Thank you.
This will help me make a purchase.
  9. Re: Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator vs Boss AC-2 Acoustic Simulator

I haven't found the answer and foolishly thought someone would tell me. I'll get in touch with Boss.

    Re: EastWOOD electric mandolin

    It's good looking.
I'm seriously tempted to go for their baritone uke when it's available.(basically a 4 string mandola)
But it overlaps other instruments I have a little too much.
  11. Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator vs Boss AC-2 Acoustic Simulator

    I can't find a description on the difference between the AC-2 & AC-3.
The AC-2's are reasonably priced. The AC-3's are not.

Does anyone know what the difference is?

btw I bought a cheapo Koogo...

    Re: Flat Wound Strings

    look at these:

    http://emando.com/shop/strings8_flatwound.htm

I'm experimenting with the mandola flatwounds now.
You give up the roundwound sound for sure, but you get a lot of other things....

    Re: Nut Width Preference?

Mandolin nut widths are a big problem for me.
I prefer mandola and ukes for the width.
Not a popular point of view.

    Re: EastWOOD electric mandolin

I use acoustic guitar strings on Baritone Uke's with great success using CGDA tuning.
Silk and Steel sets work well.
You just have to mind the gauges and experiment a bit.

    Re: EastWOOD electric mandolin

I own a couple of Eastwood instruments and I've always been happy with their product.

But about 2 years ago I tried their electric mandola . Same look and headstock.
I couldn't bond with it. It...

Re: New picks and pick noise

I use the Jazztone 208's as a reference to all new picks I try.
These picks are almost perfect in terms of tone and low click noise.

Re: '30 Epiphone Tenor - Mansion on the Hill

I started playing this in public about two months ago and it...

    Pluckinstrings:

    Thanks for the sheet music.
I was looking for something like this for my repertoire and this is perfect.
It's sounds good with Strum Machine also.

Re: Do you name your instruments?
