I recently (saw up close) a Strymon Cloudburst used with an acoustic guitar, and now it's on the top of my wishlist. I'd never heard of "ambient reverb" before; it's impressive!
Artists produce conceptual pieces which evoke a variety of intellectual and emotional responses in me.
Artisans produce highly-refined useful objects which also can evoke a variety of intellectual...
Steve Ryder (here in the U.S.) makes replacements also - https://www.sjryder.com/pickups.html
Really, really, nice.
Bruce recently did a radius, refret, transducer mount, & setup for me on another maker's mandolin. It sings really sweet now! :)
I'd guess a cut-out section of a "sunshade" brim from an old gardener's hat, judging from the arc of the stitched trim on the back edge of the pick.
All of the Fishman Loudbox series amps have either 5MOhm or 10MOhm input impedances on the 1/4 inch jacks, according to the manuals. They work great with NO preamp (at least with K&K transducers) and...
:) Very nice!
I use Thomastic-Infeld CF128 Classical Guitar strings. The 6th, 5th, 3rd, and 2nd strings tune to G, D, A, and E, respectively. The strings aren't cheap, but they work well for me.
Playing a solidbody mandolin (guitar, bass, etc) unplugged reminds me very much of playing a clavichord. It's really just a matter of your ears becoming accustomed to the instrument's voice. Once...
Although I have a quart can of naptha, for small jobs (minor cleaning & lubing, or even thinning Tru-Oil) I just use a little can of Zippo lighter fluid from Kroger/Fred Meyer.
I have full-scale printouts of the OM & 3/4 scale guitars from the Oaktown Strings downloadable PDF files -

The 3/4 is a good match...
I still have one FretSling of the three I bought back in 80-ish. Love the strap so much I made a pattern for a smaller version. Another unfunished project.
It's no longer available on YouTube, but I found it here:

Likely removed from YT due to licensing/marketing agreements. Oh, and it...

My avatar picture shows a concert (mandolin) & two baritones (mandola & octave). Easy on the hands and really pretty to the ears. Won't hold up in a session, though! :disbelief:
In my case, it's really a matter of "structural issues" - degenerative disc disease and arthritis. Coming from guitar, I never played "mandolin-style", so that wasn't an issue. At this point, the...
Another option is to bump the gauges on each string up slightly, tune a step down to FCGD, and capo at the 2nd fret for GDAE. This will drop a 23 inch scale length down to about 20.5 inches.
One for each channel ....
I'm also quite happy with the K&K/Loudbox combination. I've used an older dual-input Radial PZ-Pre with boost in group situations, and it works great, but if I needed a simple boost, I'd likely...
Have you considered just gluing (or clear double-stick taping) a thin wood shim to the bottom of the existing bridge? That might relieve the buzzing problem, but not the source of the trouble.....
Here are a couple of possibilities:

Try this one: http://chordgen.rattree.co.uk/tensiontool.php#
A bit more information would be helpful. What make & model is your mandolin? Is the bridge situated on & fit properly to the top? Is the preamp on-board? Perhaps even a photo or two in case others...
