    im not sure if this was a loyd loar invention or not but i think it was discontinued after loar left gibson most of the mando's after that did not have the virzi ...but mabe you could still get it...

    Some of the newer mando's today are not made for heavy gauge strings ....most are made for mediums and therfore not a problem for light gauge ..but be careful before using heavy gauge it could lead...

    John riecshman supposedly uses a red bear ...thile used to use a blue chip ..its all about personell choice and some people use different picks when they switch from mando to guitar......its all...

    i ordered wide frets on my appitius but my friends frets on his northfield are twice as wide ..... so different makers fret width are subjective to say the least .. get what ever feels right for you

    the pick-up that a lot of pro's use (thile , ronnie mcourry and many others use is the clip - on a.t. 350 or pro 35 (wireless) its the best as far as price goes its only about $150 bucks you have...

    you do know they make a wireless pro 35...... but i use the the cable .....unless your jumping around a lot or doing cartwheels and somersaults ...the a.t. 35 cable works great.
