That looks like a great solution that would work for several mini mics. I’ve been looking for something like this myself. Wonder if Brian Oberlin can tell us how to get one?
Yes, I have tried the flatwounds from Emando on my N.K. Forster GBOM. I like them better than ph/bz. Smooth playing and less finger noise. At Emando you can pick your gauges and either loop or ball...
The tone will get deeper the further away you play from the bridge.
I did a transcription in Tabledit. It should be listed in the library.
You can’t go wrong with the LR Baggs Venue. I use it for everything- upright bass, electric bass, mandolin, guitar. Lots of features and has built in tuner.
You can order standard or custom sets from Emando.com. Lots of options for mandolin, mandolin, octave mandolin, etc. Prices are reasonable.
For me the guitar body shape is easy to hold, sits well on your lap. The larger body may add more volume and tone than an A style.
Another beauty, Nigel!
Anybody tried the new Wavelength by Northfield? Looks interesting. ...
I have used the Myers Feather and LR Baggs Venue together. I have tried the boost when performing and it works for me.
I’ve had good luck with the Thalia capo on my Forster GBOM. They are very strong, easy to slide and come with several changeable pads for different radius sizes.
I think it’s fantastic!
Thank you Jim for the score or your tune Transylvania Vamp on MuseScore! I find it much better than the Tabledit version, easier to hear the melody and understand.
Maybe Verne Brekke can help you.

Same here, could not access. Would like to see the Melissa pdf for octave mandolin!
Note: The pickup / preamplifier on the mandolin is a custom design by me.[/QUOTE]
Please tell us about your pickup system .
It does have a Celtic feel to it, Irish sounding. Could be a guitar or mandolin, sounds like sampled virtual instruments. Many video games have interesting music in a Medieval vibe.

Steve aka Bogle was a dear friend. I learned so much from talking to him about instruments and playing music together. I'm glad to have acquired one of his mandolins, a Ratcliff Silver Angel...
Here’s a tune composed by Nigel Eaton on hurdy gurdy. Here’s my version played on mandolin and octave mandolin. Seasons Greetings!

I just listed an Old Wave GBOM if interested. The neck is slim and easy to play. Great tone!
Don Julin has a course on double stops.
Kind of pricey for an import. You can get better instrument made in USA by someone like Ken Ratcliff who makes the Silverangel line.
I recently played two Loar’s side by side, one with a Virzi. There was a subtle difference with the Virzi, slightly sweeter.
Randy Wood F-5 with mother of pearl inlay and ivory bridge.
