    Re: Kenny Baker

K.B . . . . I listen and the more I learn the more I hear and . . . I started with fiddle at the same age as K.B. recorded Kenny Baker Plays Bill Monroe. So ever "catching up" is well beyond me ......

Re: Live Mic for Mandolin Recommendations

Ok…. SM 57 are really the workhorse for the sound reinforcement industry. IMO to have a complete kit you need a mic, a transducer internally mounted, a quality pre amp, a small acoustic amp, a mic...

    Re: Mandolin to Violin

Well ... I took up with the fiddle twenty years ago after a couple of decades with a mandolin and a couple of decades with guitar before that starting in the mid 60's. I still play all three...

    Re: Dudenbostel 2-point

Lovely Big D. I was lucky enough to play one of your F5's with a Virzi and it is one I remember clearly for the excellent tone and playability. Then whenever I get to thinking I know how to play a...

Re: High e-string keeps snapping, help?

Pops1 is correct about tuning post breaks. I have a Gibson that did that. If they are breaking at the tailpiece look for a burr in the tailpiece. If they are breaking at the bridge the string is...

Re: Question on "tiers" of instruments

Less than 500, less than 1,000 less than 3,000 less than 5,000 and 5000 to 30,000 ...... I'd say that covers it. The gradient is clarity and balance of tone. It's kind of like buying a car. You can...
