    Re: Tailpiece angle adjustment

I found over time the James will need to be bent back up from repeated closing of the cover. Also, too high and the strings can buzz on the leading edge of the bottom in front of the o rings. Too low...

    Re: Double action truss rod

I set them flush with the fingerboard gluing surface. My neck thickness is 16mm tapered to 18 at the 10th. Gives me 3mm min cover. Guitar necks are the same using these truss rods.

    Re: Quilted Maple

In my experience, quilted gives a deeper (darker) tone compared to Sugar Maple combined with the same kind of top wood. Overall tone can be taylored by changing top/ back combinations. Engelmann with...

Re: Action high - but why, I cry!

Can be many reasons for the bridge to be set like that. How much adjustment was there originally? Replacement bridge? Base looks tall and non-standard design. The neck block area can rotate over...

Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?

    Skip,
You are spot on. I am using this for a stronger neck block for the dovetail. No matter which way you cut solid wood, grain direction is not optimal at the dovetail.

Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?
