We certainly are in a great place. We have already been to Rainbow Springs State Park. It is lovely. I bought a family pass to the state parks. We will be exploring this region a lot.

Re: jams with friends during covid

I meet with two friends just about every week now. We took 3 months off when all the covid started but got back together a few weeks ago. No social distancing. We are all retired.

    Re: Playing with wrist/thumb pain

I understand what you are saying, Mark. You definitely HAVE to find out where the pain comes from. I know a good classical guitarist who taught himself, used bad left hand technique and now cannot...

    Re: Playing with wrist/thumb pain

I went to a hand specialist today. He said I have arthritis in my left wrist and the base joint of my thumb.
Pretty much all I can do is manage the pain. I got two steroid shots and he wants me take...

    Re: Playing with wrist/thumb pain

Thanks Bill. I hope no surgery as well. I also hope I can still play mandolin while it heals. I just want a specialist to tell me what is wrong and if I

    Re: Question for Experienced Players

I agree with you about speed, and yes, bluegrass players who can show speed usually do. It is

    The good thing about...

Re: Shoulder pain in fretting arm?

IMHO, the only place that pain goes away with time is with calluses on your fingers.

Every teacher I have ever had (guitar/mandolin) stress that pain in playing is NOT GOOD. Find out what is...

Re: How much do you practice?

Before I developed wrist/thumb pain I was practicing an hour a day. I have an instructor who determines what I practice
and the goals I work for each week. That helped a lot.

    Re: Playing with wrist/thumb pain
