    Tuner Recommendations

I am looking for a tuner that shows the octave, not just the h.z. Do y'all have any recommendations?
    Thanks!

Re: Flat Tops, Waterloo and others

To say it plainly, no, their quality does not translate to their price. But that is my opinion and your mileage may vary.

Re: Luthier Websites - Browsing preferences?

I like good audio samples, video, and clear pricing. Photos move me much less than video.

    Re: Weber Mandolin

I don't think you should assume that Bruce Weber will give you a new mandolin. He has a shop now where he's doing mandolin repair, though. Perhaps you should contact him about your options with neck...

    Fretting hand question

I was taught to hold the mandolin in my fretting hand with the mandolin resting on the ball of my hand where the index finger meets the palm. I then support the other side of the neck with my thumb....

Protecting mandolins from changes in climate

I'm moving from south florida to vermont, and I'm doing it in the fall. What should i do to protect my mandolins during this pretty drastic change in climate? I've never dealt with a real winter...

Re: Trading instruments in the classified

I've traded before with great results. We simply set a day to send our instruments, after the instruments were in transit, we took a photo of the receipt and tracking number and texted it. That said,...

Re: Kentucky 272 and my big problem

It seems to me like you have found a mandolin with playability that works for you; radiused frets, a neck with more of a D shape, no florida. There's plenty of high end instruments that have these...

Re: Got me an Eastman MD315...

What you hear and what your audience hears can be really different with f holes, primarily because they project outward. I recommend getting some decent audio of yourself playing or have somebody...

Re: Help: Looking To Buy My First Mandolin

I would purchase a pava from the mandolin store. They do financing, and their customer service can't be beat.

    Re: Resetting Expectations on Quality

I don't even want dog slobber on my pava or morris, can't imagine the aneurysm I would have if I got slobber on a Heiden. Lol

    Resetting Expectations on Quality

I got a boerboel (south African mastiff) recently. She's currently 8 months old and 150 lbs. When I play any instrument she loves to put her mouth on them, whether she's licking or just rubbing her...

  17. Re: Standard Notation for the Tab-Addicted Mandolinist

I've tried making a purchase from this website and their PayPal is either experiencing an error or entirely defunct as "buy it now" goes no where.
  18. Standard Notation for the Tab-Addicted Mandolinist

Where can this book be found? I've tried to search on Google and come up empty handed.

    Thanks in advance.

I've played both and considered purchasing both. When it comes to playability, I'm not sure anything is easier to play than a Collings. I was shocked, honestly. It'll have you playing like a...

    Re: What’s after a Kentucky KM-1050?

At this point you should be deciding what kind of tone you want. That'll help narrow down your choices re: builders.
