That one's been bouncing around different GC stores for a while, I think it started out in Los Angeles? (unless there have been multiple Duo Jet tenors at GC). I guess either there's something wrong...

Some of the older Martin 5's had 12-fret neck joins. I have a 5-17T like that - I think the change was during the 1929 production year (for that specific model at least). I was able to compare mine...
Thumbs up for scalloped x-bracing.
If for some reason the groove in the bridge pin is too wide, and that's what's causing the string to pop out, you can turn the pin so the string isn't aligned with the groove. I saw someone somewhere...
I ordered one from Elderly and it was set up well enough - I did make some minor adjustments but it was certainly playable. I'd recommend ordering one from them or another trusted source that will...
Same builder's sold listings show some tenors that are even more "out there". Not very pricey, kind of tempting to get one just to experience it in person.

Is there really much of a market for a new, single-pickup solid-body electric guitar - tenor or otherwise? I get that some established models will have their appeal, but this seems limiting. The last...
Bad intonation can have several causes. Is the sharpness and "bending" effect most acute at the first few frets? If so, the first thing I would check is the nut slots. If they are too high, that will...
The Tenorcaster also has a wide spacing at the bridge. The Map tenor is narrower (you can see it uses a standard 6-string bridge). Of the others I've played, the Delta also had a wider spacing. The...
Some electric tenor models have wider string spacing, esp. some of the Eastwoods.
I was looking at these when they first came out but the initial reviews were pretty abysmal. Hopefully they've improved production standards since then.
I would adjust the nut first, independently of the saddle (e.g. holding each string at the 3rd fret and checking the action at the 1st fret). If you still need to adjust the saddle after that, it...
Check this thread for lots of advice on gauges. I used a John Pearse set, and it sounds and feels very good.
I got one yesterday from Elderly - for the price I'm very impressed. I got it as a cheap tenor that I could leave at my folks' house without having to worry much about humidification and other...
I play in FCGD, and I know a few others on here do. This tuning is only 1/2 step lower, so there's no reason why it wouldn't work with the right combination of guitar & strings.
That Chord Bible series has editions for CGDA & GDAE among many others.
No problems, other than tuning issues caused by the tremolo, which are not relevant to a Tele.
Pretty sure that's what he did.
Jake Wildwood made me up a 5-stringer from a Squier Strat. He drilled holes above & between the existing holes.

Any of the common tenor tunings are amenable to jazz. If you're looking for learning materials, there isn't a ton of stuff in any tuning, but you can find chord books, beginner lessons, etc. in CGDA...
How do you want to tune it? That will guide your choice of string gauges. DGBE, CGDA, GDAE, other?
Made a trip to Jake Wildwood's yesterday, primarily to have him put together this 5-stringer from old Squier parts. He drilled new holes in the bridge, removed a saddle and a tuner, slotted the nut,...
Made a visit to Jake Wildwood yesterday for some other work, and brought the Tele - he fixed up the wiring and it sounds much better now.
Series is the beefier mode. I prefer parallel, but wiring it out of phase sort of goes in the opposite direction from series - it gives a thin, nasal tone. If I knew my way around the inside of a...
Has anyone checked the pickup wiring on theirs? When mine is in middle position it really sounds like it's wired out of phase. But in all the video demos I've seen of it, it sounds pretty similar. It...
