We planned for our 7-year-old (intermediate) fiddler to come with me to the Pagosa Springs camp in June. They've had a great Bluegrass for Kids...

    Re: Michael Daves - Artistworks

Agreed on Michael's speed in replying, quality feedback and progression. The two big themes he's helped me with over the last 3 months are precision (as relates to the prescribed melody form) and...

    Re: Headed to Pagosa camp

Don, it was great meeting you, albeit briefly. Hopefully next time I'll have instrument in hand and we can play. What a festival those folks have down there.

The Finnders & Youngberg jam camp was...

Definitely, Don. We'll be in the Roamdale camp on Reservoir Hill, with kids crawling all over.

    Headed to Pagosa camp

The Pagosa Springs camp and festival kick off Tuesday, May 31 in southern Colorado. Anybody on here headed that way? A couple of us from Carbondale will be there Monday.
  6. Re: Who can honestly say "l'll never buy another mandolin"?

I never say never, but I'm more likely to add a fiddle or a dobro to the quiver before I add another mandolin. In fact, I've been thinking real hard lately about doing that.

Pagosa Springs Jam Camp & Festival

Curious for experiences, advice on camping, etc. For the jam camp at the Pagosa Bluegrass Festival in Colorado in June. I'm excited to check it out this year, and haven't been to the festival...
  8. Re: Help: upper back tightness affecting my deltoids, trapezius,

I've had ongoing upper back and neck pain for about five years, following a car crash and exacerbated by hunching over my instrument and riding road bikes. Everything around my scapulas seized up in...

Re: what are you currently listening too

I've spent a fair bit of time lately on Flatt and Scruggs' Grand Ole Opry Show recordings on YouTube. Also, Lonesome River Band's No Turning Back album.

    Re: Hello and thank you

Many thanks everybody! banJoe, that would be great. I've yet to make it to a show at Steve's, 18 months after moving here. It's a travesty.

    Re: Hello and thank you

Hey there banJoe, that's me, though one is really reaching to attribute the word fame to that half-decade stint in the bike-racing trenches. Do you ever get up Carbondale way to pick? Would be great...

    Hello and thank you

Hi there folks. Just a quick note from a long-time lurker to say thank you for building a great community here. I've visited often, but had never been moved to post, until I saw the thread on posters...
