  1. Re: Does anyone have Rigel mandolin drawings?

I emailed Pete and got no reply.

I will most likely try and get someone else to repair it for me. I just wanted to give them a roadmap to follow since the tops on these are so unique. Some of the...
  2. Does anyone have Rigel mandolin drawings?

My G-110's top self failed catastrophically. Since Rigel's are not constructed like any other mandolin, I'd like to get a set of plans and/or a contour map of a G-110 or a CT-110 to help with the...
  3. Re: Adding mandolin tabs to ABC file format tunes - software?

You can also use TablEdit to do this as well.

  7. Re: There has got to be something better than Tabledit, right?

I personally write out what I want in ABC format into a text file. Then, I import that into TablEdit to get tabs.

I’m pretty sure that Mandolin Bros. shut down years ago.

    Re: Bouzouki Fingering

    Try:
    Index - Fret 1&2
    Middle - 3
    Ring - 4
    Pinky - 5&6

In reality you're gonna have to think a lot about shifting your hand position up (and down).

  10. Re: Is there a mando equivalent to Flatpick Guitar Magazine?

There used to be Mandolin Magazine. They went out of business seven years ago.
  11. Re: Rigel Mandolins not responding emails - tailpiece question

I just checked with Gold Tone about Rigel style tailpieces. They are out of them.
  12. Re: Free Download Codes - The Meadow Mouse & The Mandolin

    Hi Annette,

This is very kind of you.

To honor your art, and help support your offer to others, I've just bought the book from Apple Books to read to my new grandson.

    Thanks,
    Pete
  13. Re: What are some good "Guitar Body Octave Mandolin makers out th

  14. Re: Practicing the swing feel for Irish music

Another word for this idea of swing is "Lift". You might have better luck finding some info using this as a search term instead of swing.

Basically Irish music is dance music. Lift is the pulse...

  16. Re: Using Tabledit to transpose from Manadolin GDAE to Mandola CG

Ensure that you have you have the Impact "Fingerings" checkbox selected. This is in the Score->Instument dialog box under the Tuning tab. This is how you change the tab and not the notes.

    Also,...

    New GBOM taking shape

Gary Lewandowski of Cedar Mountain Mandolin has sent me a few shots of a new GBOM he's making for me.

It's gonna be the big sister to this mandolin.

    Re: "tinny" A string?

My guess (and only a guess) is that the nut string slot is a little tight. I has one mandolin that produced a tinny (on the A string no less) sound for this reason.

  20. Re: Recommendation? Light/Medium Strings for CGDA 16.5" scale man

Use a set of D’Addario Octave Mandolin strings. That’s what I use on my Mandola.

Re: D'Addario Strings - Ask Us Anything

Re: Trillium Octave mandolin string gauge

For the trussed, look inside the sound hole. It should be just under the soundboard. It's really hard to get a good look at, so you your fingers to find it.
