    Yes, it's expensive to ship. I shipped a mandolin to Australia a few years ago. It took forever to get there and it was very expensive. I probably could have flown over there for about the same.

    I use a bending iron that I made. I found the information online somewhere, years ago. It's an aluminum pipe with a dry water heater element inside. It works fine.

    One position may lay out and be easier than the other. It’s totally up to you to play it where you like it best. It never hurts to learn to play the same thing in different positions on the neck.
