Ralph is a great guy.
There would have always been that bit of guilt following that instrument, which would have taken away a lot of the enjoyment. Doing the right thing is always best. Congrats on a great instrument!
This is one of my favorite books for sure. It has a nice, structured progression that is easily digestible. Good luck and have fun!
Good to hear Scott. I'll be stringing my LaPlant with these soon.
That back is stunning!
This was great. Made my Saturday afternoon.

Good to know!
I'm putting together a pedal board for playing live and I have the following components:
K&K Pure Mini/Kentucky KM-756
Red Eye Twin pre amp
TC electronic Poly Tune 2
Boss GE-7 Equalizer
I may...
I would be interested. I live in St. Cloud, but work in Minneapolis during the week.
I’m starting to think this is the problem.
I’ve been going back and forth between D’Addario NBs and J74s. I string them as Jimmy suggest. Definitely at concert pitch. Seems odd.
I’ve been breaking a lot of E strings lately while I’m tuning up. This has been on three different mandolins, so I’m doubtful it’s mandolin specific. I started to bring them to pitch slowly, a few...
Danke Michael!
Love these two. Great harmonies and super tasteful playing. Add john to the mix and it's a bonus for all of us.
The Ultimate Mandolin Construction manual by Roger Siminoff is what I would recommend, although it only focuses on F styles.
I am currently running a K&K PU into a Red Eye Twin Preamp. Our PA is pretty basic and I'm looking for an EQ pedal to dial in my tone a bit more. Any suggestions?
I'll never sell my LaPlant. Great mandolin, but it's also the fact that Lloyd LaPlant is one of the nicest humans I've met.
Went to see him play last Saturday. Looked like he was playing a old Gibson Pumpkin top A just like the one I have-pretty neat!
I really enjoy mine also. My 1916 Gibson A1 really comes to life using this pick. I love my Blue Chip with my Laplant F style, but it does'nt bring out the best in the Gibson.
I would love to try one of these out, but my mandolin has a varnish finish and they advise not to use it with varnish.
Lloyd is an inspiration in so many ways.
Steve Boeh makes a nice mandolin. You can find him on Facebook.
Hoping to hear that one someday. Congrats!
