Busy weekend. I've been taking note of everyone's excellent advice, but haven't had a chance to weigh in.
I'm in a learning environment, so there are mixed abilities among all the instruments,...
Looks cool, but he specifically states: " Bluegrass Jam Tunes books are not available by mail; you must come to the store in person to purchase one."
So if you don't live in Oklahoma ....
They just want to play so dang fast, and I can't seem to do it. I can memorize the tunes, and I can play long strings of eighth notes, I just can't keep up with the fiddles I'm trying to play with.
...
Isn't that one of the big things forums are for?
I got this "case" with a 4-string converted banjo mandolin that I bought from Jake Wildwood a couple years ago. (It's a cool instrument, but I haven't played it much and am thinking of trading it...
I'm in the greater Derry area. I bought a case late last year from a couple in Concord who told me about the group. They are probably part of your circle as she also mentioned playing with the...
Hey Garrett, are you familiar with the NH Scottish Music Club in Concord?
I haven't been, but was told about it by someone who attends, and it sounds kind of cool.
Knew that wouldn't last too long :mandosmiley:
My Grandmother was Jemima Grace Jamieson, and she immigrated from Scotland in 1917. Thanks for this, Frank, it's lovely :mandosmiley:
I wonder if those electronics are sealed with waterproof controls. If not, it defeats the purpose just a tad. I've spilled coffee on both sealed and unsealed keyboards, and there is a difference.
That's just those jealous guitars communicating via mental telepathy ;)
That's a real nice mandolin.
I wasn't. But I'm a newbie in more ways than one :)
I would. If only for the rose on the back :mandosmiley:
Also, a quick google says B&J is apparently a New York distributor. Could this be one of the first two-point Strad-O-Lins?
.. double post .. not sure what happened
Having at one point in my life flown single engine aircraft, I hear you about headsets. But I also wonder if you could just remove that button the way people with sensitivities (me, for instance)...
If you provided them with that input, it might not be too late to influence the final carbon timber design.
I've heard of the Cat Distribution System; this must be an example of the Mandolin Case Distribution System
I had an email from Klos today - price goes up by $1000 on Friday.
Looks like it sold. I hope somebody here got it :mandosmiley:
I was under the impression that structured vs unstructured had more to do with whether it was adjustable or not. I see that I'm also in the demographic of people that didn't know how much there was...
NFI, but this instrument looks like a great deal to me for a price of $2500.

I like the idea of khaki or dark green. I have way too many black hats. Red, I don't know, maybe not these days. I almost got into an altercation with someone not long ago when I was wearing a red...
Didn't we see another one of these recently?
I was thinking about that. I paid almost exactly the same amount for a tailpiece. The tuners could be worth something, too, but at least one looks bent.
Actually, I hope it doesn't get parted out....
That's an interesting still life you posted, Simon.
I remember going to an art museum years ago, and it was explained that still life pieces like this always had something imperfect, to remind us...
