i'm aware of the hazmat fees. i have a friend who does a lot more repair work than i do & if he remembers he calls me before he orders celluloid materials & we share the fees. i have found a couple...
i'm a fan of pickguards. i plan to try to find one but will probably have sticker shock when i do. is there a site where i can find the specs/dimensions to make one?
i always remove tapered end pins when shipping instruments. they can become a splitting wedge upon an impact.
when it comes in that's the 1st thing i'll check. i should have been clear about why i thought the pin was suspect.
in the last 20 years I've had 4 vintage mandolins, 3 ukuleles, & 1 tiple come into the shop for repairs. in the last month 5 have come thru. i bought a collings, i'm on the fence on a Kalamazoo, now...
braces are tight. looked around inside with my mirror & it looks good. no cracks anywhere or signs of repairs.
like i said on another thread things come in cycles. a guy brought a 30s KM-11 for repairs or to sell. it's in great shape but needs the frets dressed. from research it looks like this is a good...
the deal on the Martin is off, the guy needed cash & his dad bailed him out. so i decided to buy a Collings MT locally. can't go wrong there.

it's funny that when i searched the forum nothing much showed up but when i searched online i found several threads from this forum on the 2-15. i can afford 1 mandolin & the 0-18. we're negotiating...

went to a neighborhood mom & pop music store. mostly ignore them cuz they cater to school bands, give lessons, & carry off brand instruments. they had an ibanez A model hard case that mostly fits....
i wonder if the musicians friend case changed over time since jim garber ( above ) said his 202 fit in their case. mine is spruce top & mahogany body so i'm assuming it's a 202. mine measures 3...
i bought the musicians gear case. it's claimed interior depth is 4" but will not close without some pressure even though my Vega measures 3 5/8". the lid is ajar by 1/4". the padding should compress...
i picked a mandolin that has some fuzzy tubes that the strings pass thru right where the loops hook to the tailpiece. best way to describe them is that they look like a thin blue caterpillar. are...
title says it all
thanks guys. sundays guitars doesn't list any dimensions. musician gear case shows a 4" depth so it should work. i also found an open box tkl a style case for 125.00. i'll call sundays guitars...
looking for a case for my cylinder back. interior height has been a problem. mine came with a purple lined case that's falling apart. there is a cylinder back on reverb that looks like it has the...
i misread the page i looked at. this is a model 202. when i repaired the soundboard i did a french lacquer finish on the top.
i have a model 207 cyl back & I'm trying to get an idea what it's worth. it's been restored & is now in good trim & is playable. it also has it's original hard case that is rough but restorable. i'm...
