I understand Gibson has made on 7 of these Goldtop (GT_ models) and Sam has the first (as you see him play riding up the mountain). I picked up (what I am told is #7 - though they are not numbered...
20 years late on this thread but I LOVE my Steffey. The reason they no longer make it is they intentionally limit these signature models (50 in the case of many) to help keep them in demand -...
Just reading this 20 year old thread....I have a Steffey model and absolutely love it, the radius is comfort on my old hands and the tone is wonderful. Yes - its also a piece of artwork in my...
Just picked up an LR Baggs Venue today....curious how you have it set up (Bass to Treble and Presence). I'm dumb but learning this stiff now that my K&K powered Gibson Gold top has me competing with...
I recently purchased #7 Gibson Gold Top and love it!
I love the Gibson Gold top - I just bought one of the 7 ever made. I'm in love!

I know this thread is old...but I'm new here. Just picked up an Adam Steffey....... love it! Though my primary is still my 04 Gibson F5...and my 1970's Alvarez C55 still has the prettiest inlays.
Thanks Ray - I guess I as bad at using this (new to me) Mandocafe forum for the first time as I am at managing my pinky! Forgive?
Thank you Mark - best summary yet! I do rest my finger - again, an amatuer style for sure - but hate seeing the face damaged like it is. I'll start saving up for a pick guard!
I have a couple of Gibson (An F5-G and an Adam Steffey Signature)...as well as a early 70's Alvarez F style. Only the Alvarez has a Pick guard. Perhaps due to my sloppy style - or poor hand...
Curious what an Adam Steffey model in excellent condition would go for in 2016?
