Yep, good singing and picking!
Wow, there are so many. You can't go wrong with Grisman from his Rounder album through Quintet '80. Andy Statman is a mad genius and his early work is phenomenal. I love Norman Blake's mandolin...
Great book. I had the pleasure to meet and hang out with him at this past Mandolin Symposium. Wonderful guy, amazing player, and excellent teacher!
Yep, I believe you need to free up that right hand...especially if you want to get warmer tones from picking over the sound hole and closer to the bridge.
Actually, I just read on wikipedia that it is John Hartford. Pretty cool stuff.

Howdy!
I use Wegen bluegrass picks but I would love to try one of these. Thanks!
Sounds cool, thanks for the review. Keep me in the loop of the mando tasting west, I'm in the LA area.
Thanks for everything, John.
To me, John was able to create a sound that had deep roots but yet was "far out". John had that river in him so deep. And yes, pick up Morning Bugle also, whoa what an album.
This is ever so remarkable, watched it twice, thanks for posting!
Thank you, Scott!
The plot thickens! Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for all the great responses! Now I need to really think about them and try to apply that to music. Patience is the key.... Yes Don, that is fine you mentioned your cd, I might just have to...
...or better yet Django scales .
I'm working with Dix Bruce's How to Play Gyspy Swing, the tune is After You've Gone in the key of C. I'm trying to solo over changes and having...
Yeah, I love Enrique and Joe but that's how it goes. Every time I saw Enrique w/ the DGQ he always seemed low in the mix, but I love his playing and he's a super cool dude. I saw one show w/Frank...
Fyi, I was just at Suwannee Springfest in Live Oak, FL and Peter Rowan announced that his bluegrass band is making an album on Compass Records in April.
Chris,
Glad to hear of this project. I hope to get it. I love your playing and singing.
Thanks,
Joe
Wow, sounds pretty ugly. I don't know how I missed those...But thanks for the info, might just keep the lid closed on that.
Ok, so what's the deal that I hear Baker wrote Jerusalem Ridge?
Joe Stuart-Guitar; Vic Jordan-Banjo; Bob Black-Banjo; Randy Davis-Bass
Rob-It was recorded on March 29th & 30th 1976. Also I heard about Das Punk doing the album on Mike Compton's Taterbugmando...
Man, this album is amazzzzzzing! I can't believe I haven't heard it until today, been wanting for a long time though. I actually got a sealed vinyl copy. Bill's mandolin and Kenny's fiddle are...
