    Re: Unusual Benko mandolin

Yes, that's a tamburitza instrument of some kind, possibly a prim. We know he built these traditional Croatian instruments as well as mandolins. I'm guessing that since he was Croatian the...

    Lyon & Healy serial numbers

Here is a Lyon & Healy Style C with the serial number stamped on the rim as well as written on the label. I might have seen this in one other L&H but I'm not sure. I don't think it is true of every...

Re: This weeks mandolin that won't get a bid or buyer

Following this discussion I went ahead and bought the Geils/Beaudoin/Weinstein CD on Amazon... and instead the seller sent me the 4-DVD Lethal Weapon box set. Not even sure I knew there were four...

Message from the seller of the new-in-box Fender: "I really really really don’t want to sell this but… If you can do $1999.99 right now… I’ll sell this to you… That’s $500 off! Let me know thanks." ...

I haven't seen many Style U harp guitars, but no, I don't think they come close to 50K. There are 4 on eBay right now in various states of repair, topping out at 7K.

This might be the same seller who posted a couch full of vintage Gibsons on the Dallas CL a few weeks ago. I bet he gets a few inquiries from dealers/flippers offering some portion of the $50K. A...

    J. Geils made an album with Aaron Weinstein, believe it or not. I don't know if Aaron plays any mandolin on the album or just sticks to violin.
