Count me in!
Purchased this on ITunes over the weekend and have been wearing it out. Love the 'old time' sound as well as true Bluegrass. The mixture of tunes is very much to my liking!!!
Great job Adam....
Love the sound. It is amazing how something that has been 'dormant' for so long could wake up and be so full of energy and life. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Keep the Grass Blue!
Listening to Doc pick Black Mountain Rag turned me on to Bluegrass music. I regret that I never saw him perform in person. :(
I fell in love with Bluegrass in the mid 70's because of the hard driving tempo and ringing of the banjo. Through the years I have discovered the 'brother duets' that preceded Bluegrass and really...
True about the summer temps here in Bama Land Marty, but it would be great for the colder months.
What a great giveaway Scott. Thanks. Will be waiting for the 10th to put my name in the hat for this one.

I used a Nostalgia box for '4 String #4' very thin top, good acoustic sound.

No electronics installed.
Yes, the Cohiba boxes are very nice. I used one to make a 4 string CB Dobro.
Yes, most cigar boxes are made of cedar and I think this box has cedar in it (laminated). There are no electronics installed in this instrument as are in most cigar box guitars. I use piezo...
I've recently completed an octave mandolin. I used a large cigar box for the body. It has a cherry neck and purple heart fretboard. Please excuse the playing; getting used to the stretch!
The...
One of my favorites also.

Looking out my front window!
I play the top 2 strings only for the F chord most of the time. 4th string/3rd fret, 3rd string/2nd fret
I use this online tuner when I am at home and my ears aren't working just right. http://www.get-tuned.com/mandolin_tuner.php
When tuning to the guitar, I ask them to play the minor chords Dm, Am,...
Thanks for the chord tips. Minor chords are really awesome on the mandolin.
Hey Scotty! Want to hear me play 'Gander in the Pratie Hole' at warp speed?
A little history of the tune here, then comes the tune with a bucket full of variations. Enjoy!!

I have only owned two mandolins in the past 30+ years. My first was an Aria A model and my second one is an Eastman 515 purchased about five years ago from Steve at Gianna Violins. The Eastman is a...
No one mentioned the candy bar he made :-(.
I have this album in my box of oldies. Have listened to it countless times as a newcomer to Bluegrass years ago. It is humbling to know we will all have a chance to play our music in Heaven one day.
No photo, but trust me. Mine arrived today, and I got a call telling me my mandolin was ready to be sent to me. Oh happy day!!!!
Life am good.
Mine should get here tomorrow, maybe. Now, if only my mandolin will get here also. Still a bit early for it to get all fixed up at the mandolin clinic. It's driving me nuts not having it here.
