Thanks for your reply, Jim!
I also got a little insight on the sound of a Suzuki M30. I really must say my F-Style Mando sounds much nicer to me.
Seems like this bowlback got a rather tinny sound....

I want to have a classical mandolin for a time now but those with higher quality don't come in cheap. So I was looking to get a used one and stumbled over this little thing here:
205552
205553...
I wish there would be a shop like that in Vienna, but none has a solid sortiment or good service.
Wouldn't know of any in general Austria neither. It's more of a niche thing here.
Anyhow i find...
Haha :D sorry for off-topic but "only" 6 hour drive sounds very absurd for my european (inner) ears. in 6 hours you could almost cross my whole country :D
Thank you Adrian and Richard for you inputs! It's now much clearer to me.
And yeah that's a nice idea with these tools, Richard. Maybe I can lend it somewhere or form it myself via clay or some...
Hey Dave!
I gave your foo back a try!
It was lots of fun jamming to that track. Time really flies by. I probably took about 7 or 8 takes and then let it be. I still have a lot to learn but I aint...
I was wondering for some time now why some mandolin bridges got this little cut out shown in the attached picture. I would think that a full contact with the body would provide a better sound...
Hehe :)
Oh almost forgot to give my tip: I go for team Parrot! TSCHIUAII! IIIIEEEK! WUIT!
Thank you, Charles and Hendrik!
The whita the whata? I also wanna vote. Can someone clarify that for me?
But yet we all can feel it :) a great example where the guts rule over the brain!
Sounds nice this tune. Could you share the tabs or notes on that one?
You got a very vivid and clear way of explaining. Thank you, good Sir!
I found this video to be very interesting and I think it can be applied to the mandolin as well:

But I agree with you about the effects the tuning of...
Thanks Kenny and Hendrik for your explanations!
I know now that I wasn't actually talking about overtones. Will keep an eye open.
Thanks also to Hendrik for pointing out the Harmonics. I was...
For how much could one be sold?
What is it with these overtones anyway? Are they wanted or a curse?
Sometimes I think more of the latter when I only plug a single note. The other strings are then resonating too and kind of shift...
Nice one man! Looking forward to it.
If you can access thomann you may want to take their "harley beneton" models into consideration. They are quite cheap and with a bit of work sound quite nice.
And if buying used is an option for you...
Thanks Dave! Got it downloaded.
Nice one! Can you provide the backing track?
Oh wow dude! Just turned on "ain't necessarily square" now on spotify. I like it very much, straight away.
Thanks for the hint! And I will check out these sections you named. There is yet so much to...
I also got a Neotech! Not the prettiest but surely the most comfortable strap for my F-style Mandolin.
They work great as a counter balance. I just recently got one for my mandolin and right after mounting it the neck dive was gone.
Anyhow I will fix the strap around the neck again. The F-Style shape...
Yeah good point. It really only needs a fraction to make an effect.
That makes me curious about another thing: how long does it take in average to tune the mandolin? I'd say it takes me between 1...
