    Re: More Gibson Antics

Yeah, when you think about, Bill and David may be responsible for the most Gibson antics!

    Re: Gibson's 1923 F-5 Master Model Reissue

Absolutely no disrespect to NF, they make what they make. And nothing's coming - just based on the fact that they don't make a 20k mandolin, perhaps 1/4 of that on a good day.

    Re: Gibson's 1923 F-5 Master Model Reissue

No disrespect, but NF has no place in a discussion of 20k instruments.
  7. Re: A sadly misinformation-laden bit of mandolin "scholarship"

We live in a world full of lies and misinformation, and have since before recorded time. It's cause people and now things just do that quite naturally.

    Mandolin content on YouTube

There is so much great content on YT, I constantly bump into something new and refreshing! I like how it seems to nudge me off my beaten path into other ideas and genres. Lately, I've been enjoying...

    Re: Studying Sam Bush

Let's not forget this tour-de-force project by two legends. The production and performances are so exquisitely perfect. Many of the tunes are great for slowing down and learning. Hartford's Real is...

    Re: Pickguard issue

Took a shot at removing it, and thankfully total success. Started by warming a spot with a hair dryer - when it lifted fairly easily, I kept going slowly. About half the rubbery glue material lifted...

    Re: Pickguard issue

In reading through similar threads, seems stewmac makes a removable mylar pickguard. Some recommendations to warm if you try to remove. Looks like it's designed to be removed/replaced, but age is a...

    Re: Pickguard issue

Yes, I can feel the raised edge. Have yet to try to lift an edge.

And, if attempted, would it be helpful to slightly warm the area you think?

Unless I have a couple folks who have successfully...

    Pickguard issue

I can't tell if this is what remained when a glue-on pickguard was removed - or is this some kind of transparent pickguard made like this. Does anyone have experience with something similar? I would...

This original tin must go back to at least the '80s. Since I'm planning on passing it down to my heirs, I only use it on "special" occasions. ;)

A nod to Custom Inlay. Jason was a pleasure to work with. A perfect job and the pricing was great. Couldn't be happier.
