Mine is now played hours and hours and beside tuning needs no attention. But as Ed writes it is very slippery, I can‘t play it whithout a strap, even sitting is impossible. I have not decided to put...
Obviously it’s quicker, it came via Liverpool, GB, Hamburg to me.
Tom, mine plays fine no picking problems. But your is the original, mine is only a copy.
Got mine two days ago here in Germany. It is also green and looks great in that color. After a quick inspection I found it top crafted. Set up is good and I could play it just as it came out of the...
I love the violin aesthetics and also the finish. But I am a celtic guy and not a bluegrass player. The headstock could in my opinion whithout the two horns but that is really a minor point.

I play four and five course, both Fylde. The four course is an octavemandolin with 53 cm scale. Tuned GG DD AA EE I can play ist like my mandolin with a some loss in speed when ist comes to higher...
Hi Neil, a some years ago I sold an octavemando from germany to the us. A nightmare was it. Stuck in us customs for two month without information where exactly it is.
Could have been in the ocean of...
The mandolin pictured is typical for german made mandolins. Most of them, although often handmade, are of a poor quality. I have owned some and played more. None of them had good working...
A Folkfriends Octavemandolin was many years ago my start in the octave world. To cut it short, I was not happy with it. Although nice to look at, I didn‘t liked the sound. Not much of a charakter,...

I have a cittern, tuned GDAEa: 42/22, 28/12, 20/009 and 009 for the high a pair. 20/009 or 22/009 works fine, scale is 23 inch.
Thought I am the only one with Herdrim picks. Very pointy, each side a different gauge and cheap.
Hi Jim,
the first is a Fylde Cittern, tuned GDAEa. Lowest three stringpairs are in octaves. The high a strings makes it fast and short to the highest notes.
The mandolin is a ten string mandolin...

Hi All, it's a long time since my last post.
Sunday I had a sudden idea. Since we all more or less locked in our houses, I thought I could play a living room concert and share with my family,...
Thank you Martin, I have a copy of a Zupfgeigenhansl somewhere in the cellar. I'm starting the search for it right now (instead of changing strings).

Bob you did right! I own a MM-68, for around 7 years, and before that an MCS148. I take mine everywhere and I have to travel a lot, I play it on stage and for practise, it is my worker. It never...
