Re: Ovation & Crafter - A Few Observations

I've made a few adjustments to the Ovation which has really helped it..... The original tuners have gone in the recycling bin and I've put Gotoh MA40s on instead together with a fresh set of strings....

Re: Favourite Funeral Songs/Songs of Mourning

When I go up in smoke I've chosen After the Ordeal by Genesis from their sublime album Selling England By the Pound, followed by Walking Home by the great Eric Bibb. Strong, heartfelt and beautiful...

    Ovation & Crafter - A Few Observations

I'm very new to mandolins but currently have both an Ovation and a Crafter, so thought I'd do a brief comparison in case anyone else finds themselves with a similar situation.

    I play guitar and...

    Re: Gig Bag Recommendation Please

Thanks all for the input. I've just bought a Gator semi-hard case which looks as if it'll fit my needs. Seems to be a cross between a gig bag and a full case, certainly well made.

    Appreciate your...

    Gig Bag Recommendation Please

Recently bought an Ovation mandolin but struggling to find a decent gig bag it'll fit in to properly.

Any recommendations please? Something half-decent and travel proof.

    TIA
  6. Re: Beginners, how many set up your mandolin successfully on your

I learned to set acoustic guitars up and have done many over the years. As a newcomer to the mandolin I wasn't fazzed by tackling the job myself, especially since my learner instrument was almost...

Re: Ovation - Korean vs US

    Hi Jimmy,

I'm still pondering about your MM68. It looks glorious and it's only the case that's holding me back. I need a decent Mandolin for a while but am worried I'll struggle to get my money...

    Ovation - Korean vs US

    Hi all,

I've decided the mandolin I need is a secondhand Ovation. I've had their guitars before (still have a cracking US 12-string shallow bowl) and get on well with what they're good at. Since...

    My First Mandolin

What a bargain! I bought this yesterday for $35.... It's hardly been used and came with a soft case and strap. Never heard of the maker but assume it's just a generic Chinese product that appears...

Re: Mandolin on this British Sitcom?

The series was filmed in the fields around where I live and also our nearest town, Framlingham was used for the meeting hall and the pub (which in real life is the Castle Inn). I agree, it's a great...

    Re: First Post - Greetings!

Thanks all for the welcome gents....

I think I've decided on an electro-acoustic by Crafter. It's secondhand, very cheap (£40 - $45) and the neck is true. At that money, if I find I don't like it...

    Thanks!

Definitely not a soccer fan. I played rugby until I got too old and beaten-up and you'll generally find over here that rugby players don't like soccer and visa versa. :)

    First Post - Greetings!

    Hi all,

Just joined the forum so thought I'd say hello..... I've been playing guitar for years but have recently decided to add a mandolin to my arsenal. Haven't bought one yet but know it'll be...
