    Re: Just so excited!!!

My only complaint is that the G string is a touch floppy. Does a slightly smaller gauge create less floppyness?

I love playing this thing! Sam Rodriguez Customs did a fantastic job.

    Re: OM Scale Lengths

I played a 22" scale Tenor as an octave, then had built a 19" OM using the same hardware, literally. The tenor was a bit, but not much, fuller sound. The OM is much more comfortable to play with my...

    Re: Saving for an octave

I bought a cheap, cheesy octave made out of really soft, cheap (sub $100) woods and no set up. It was all I needed to convert me.
Now, I have it (modded) and a custom 4 string electric LP and...

    Re: Just so excited!!!

I had added some used black tuning pegs prior and just added the black bridge and tun-o-matic Saturday. I left the chrome mounting hardware for both as it compliments the p90s.

I was running low budget hardware due to my budget, not the builder. I have been able to do some upgrades.

Thank you. Last night was a real in depth look at pedal and puck up settings. Our lead guitarist uses the same pedal but with humbuckers and we did lots of comparisons. He was blown away by the...

If you ever wanted an electric octave mandolin in 4 or 5 string solid body... do it!
This 19" scale still allows chord shaping for my stubbing fingers! It was difficult on my 21.75" tenor neck. ...

I have the octave in my possession, I played on it through my 1969 Univox amp and really like it. I had no problem getting up to a B chord above the octave G. The scale will require a bit of...

Well, we didn't wait. He threw a couple on it and this was my decision.
Also, someone asked about the bridge choice. The OG Gibson tenor used the 6 string p90s and bridge, so I chose that set up.
