Thank you, yes it is important to remember who are doing it for and not get cought up in fancy licks. I can play in other keys some of it for the sustain I can get using a capo.

Hi I am trying out for our worship team at church. I have played before at another church, but kind of strugled a bit because I was trying to take the place of electric guitar. Any tricks or advice?...
that is a good idea to start with plaining the button.
thank you very much!
I bought an IV mandolin kit of which I am pleased, my problem is a thick scroll. The binding came cut, and I feel like I will have trouble trying to shave an 1/8" off.
where can I find those at? if this is repeated my apologies.
International Violin F5 kit.
I kind of figured as much, but still curious. I have an IV kit on the way soon, this looks like something I could experiment with.
who has bought one of these, and what are they like?

the thing that makes me nervous is doing the binding!

Thank you that is what I wanted to hear!
Nice job by the wy! I'm considering ordering one and I'm getting all the info I can out of these older posts.
I know it's an old thread, but does the fret board lay flat no the top or is it rased like the traditional f5 mandolins?
and I think they are out of stock at the moment :( have you played, or built an IV kit mandolin?
thank you! I'll look to see what I can find.

Thank you! the more replies I see like this makes me see my folly. I'm currently looking at an IV build kit, though it won't have a wider neck necessarily. I can at least afford it, and have some...
