That's awesome, makes me wish I had 3 talented quad brothers too (I'd be the one pushing "record" on the camera). I've been trying to play "Linus and Lucy" this year, I've tried it out on...
I didn't have time to read all the posts so apologies if someone has already said this but "yes."
(I also hate being the second person to sign a birthday card)
Hello I'm Tony Dillingham.
Thanks Scott
We don't have a great selection in the music stores around Kiama NSW but at the weekly and monthly jams there are usually at least 3 other mandolin players and another 3 or 4 guitarists or fiddlers...
Thanks, now I'm $12.99 poorer.
I don't have the book any more but in Bob Black's "Come Hither to go Yonder" he recounts something along those lines.
These are from Walmart, I had to order mine online as Walmart is too far from Australia:

I've been taking Marshall's lessons for a couple of years now and when Michael's came out I had the same dilemma. I saw one lesson (it's not the free preview one, might have been a post on the...

"Ha ha, look at me I'm Pete Townshend! Don't worry, it's just some old ukulele"...Should have gone to Specsavers
I knew I shoulda taken that left turn at Albuquerque!
CG, I had just looked at my response and was worried it came off like I was criticizing the mandolin - apparently fret wear is just another cost and I'd certainly buy my Kentucky again if I had it to...
I didn't mean to imply it wasn't a good deal since the picture is of him pulling the strings to show the wear. Mine are a lot deeper and causing buzzing. I won't do a self refret until I get a new...
It's the bending not the tips, my callouses seem to have worn down a bit but the strings don't hurt my fingertips.
On the photos for this one there's one showing the fret wear - my KM160 (which I love the sound of btw)has the same issue only worse, I was told there's not enough fret height to file and a refret...
I went to one of the local stores today, all they had was 3 lower end Washburns and they all had C profiles. I played around with them but without a strap, standing etc... it's hard to really tell...
I have been using the "box" shapes, going from 4 finger G over 1 course to 3 finger C and from A to D but I'm thinking if I can learn the 4 finger versions I've got a speedier switch for fast G to D...
I use a strap and usually a foot stool or at least raise my left leg for more support. I try not to support the neck, as Tom mentioned I do use my thumb and knuckle as sort of leverage against each...
When I play the offending passage the mandolin neck tends to rest pretty much where the finger comes out of the hand so there is space between the web and mandolin.
