    Re: Women with Mandolins

Donna Stoneman was such a nice lady the couple of times I spoke to her. She was quite the pioneer in her day.

Re: Mandolin world vs fiddle world

I was always fascinated by the lack of information about Scotty Stoneman's fiddles.

    Interesting topic.

    My Oldest Copyright....

Man, I'm getting old. 1984. Nearly 40 years ago I used to send this around, busk with it, and daydream about some Superstar recording it back when a writer could make money off of a "hit single". For...

Looking for oldtime, folk, bluegrassy, acoustic players for fun and/or profit.

I'm mostly a guitarist/vocalist but play a little mandolin and also dabble with resonator and banjo.

Poll: Re: Poll - Gold vs Silver

I love the patina of the worn gold look on my J-45.

    Re: Your Wegen Pick

I can tell the difference, sometimes I just can't decide which one I prefer.

When I drank beer, I swapped brands from time to time as well.

Actually, I've been married a few times......

    Re: Your Wegen Pick

I really like the BG100. I rotate it with a Bluechip TD40 and can never decide which one I like the best.

I also have some rounded Wegen 1.0's but forget the model name/#. M100 maybe?

    Re: Amplified playing and effects

I prefer a clean acoustic sound with no effects. My many decades of playing electric guitar with Marshall/Mesa stacks has tired me of delays, compression and trickery.
