Oh Nigel, that looks nothing but lovely. I know you have mostly focused of late on your wonderful guitar-bodied styles, but I cherish and play this one every day. Thanks for the...
I love Don's work... his love of wood is apparent, his ear for tone impeccable. I love the "V style" vibe in particular, and at present I am the grateful custodian of this one, #245...
"Hey little blackbird, on my wireline..." My word! What a creative and soulful arrangement of that tune. Thank you for working it up, and for sharing.

What a GREAT story! I had one of Lawrence's short-scale citterns many years and many instruments ago, and it is on my short list of the "wish I hadn't let that one get away." He does such beautiful...
This is MARVELOUS, Trey! Always a joy to hear you and Chris making music. Thanks for sharing it with the world, and with us.

Hi, fellow Pomeroy owner Furb (and other fans). I just gave grateful home to this one, Don's #239, having been hunting an oval hole for a while. My word! I love everything about it, the violin...
Thanks to all again for your comments. This mandolin continues to feel at home.
Perhaps the former owner will weigh in, Nick, but I will say that he is a huge fan of blackface mandos, and I think...

A month or so ago I posted a "Want to Buy: Guitar-bodied Octave Mandolin" ad on the 'Cafe, and I received some very helpful responses. Thanks, everyone.
And the winner (for...
John, thanks for that comparison. Gotta say that big ol' cittern is quite wonderful, and yes, Hector the Hero sounds splendid on it. The other two instruments are lovely as well. Very cool to hear...
My word, Marty. That's spectacular, even by your standards. Wow.
Hi there. Davy makes wonderful instruments. I had a longer-scale flat top mando of his that was marvelous, and also a 10-string cittern that was wonderful and rich. I haven't had a guitar-bodied...

Yeah, what a wonderful instrument this was/is. I had to sell it due to emerging hand issues that made the stretches problematic, but it has tone and vibe and quality in abundance, and is just plain...

Ah, and forgot to ask. Mine retain those original banners, still fastened to the headstock, and what I suspect is the original strap. What's the story with the banners, and the translation (I know...
Thanks again for your wonderful work, Norbert. It helped me appreciate my instrument (which dates to 1925 per your label collection) even more. And since 2009 lots of octave mandolin instruments...
