    Play it wherever it works/sounds good to you. Staying 1st position has the advantage of using the open strings. Some keys require a small shift and then you can come back, moving up/down the neck...

    I have one and like it alot. What are you wondering about specifically…it doesn’t stretch since its a piece of hard leather but there are hole and they might stretch a bit over time.

    The mando is not a guitar so slash chords may or may not work, you'll have to experiment and decide what you like, the guitar is probably picking up the D so just play the Cm and see if you like it.
