Thank you very much for sharing the Tunebook. Not only will I learn a few new tunes but this will be great for some of my students to improve their reading!
I vote strongly for keeping a version...
Here's a photo of Bill and me back in 2007. My wife and I were visiting my son in Los Cruces and I called Bill to see if we could stop by and try a couple of mandolins. We had a nice visit and a...
Hi Bruce,
I never thought of that tune as a shuffle, that is interesting.
I've always heard with a slow swing beat, such as Sarah Vaughan with Barney Kessel on guitar:...
A student of mine wanted a somewhat complicated accompaniment to the jazz standard "The Very Thought of You" in G major to perform with his wife who sings.
It worked well on the mandolin and it's...
Great tone Jim!
Hi Bren, I'm sure you're right.
I was just reporting what I had paid over here, but as you say there are the VAT fees and the sellers should be reimbursed for their packing and handling time.
It cost $102.45 last November for me to send a mandolin (10 lbs 15 oz) to the United Kingdom through the USPS and it included tracking despite the postal clerk telling me there would not be tracking....
Hi Eugene,
Thank you for taking the time to list the track names. This is the same recording that I have as a CD under the title of "The Paganini of the Mandolin". I think one of his students...
I believe it was Norman Levine who said that Emanuil Sheynkman was amazing to see live. That the energy in his concert performances far outshone his recordings.
I have "The Art of the Mandolin" and...

Scot, It's nice to hear you and John playing together.
Judy and I have played his beautiful "A Place in the Heart" for many weddings over the past decade.
I just found this interesting article...
My 1917 A-4 does need a different pick than my other mandolins. This one sounds great on mine and balances the strings:...
Hi everyone. maybe some of you more savvy Ebayers can help me out.
In 1997-1998 I was the artistic director/ emcee of a Jazz Guitar series. I have a PolyTone amp (the choice of many jazzmen from...
Great work Dave! I'm looking forward to hearing one of them.
I love my Roland AC-33. 30 loud watts plugged in, 20 loud watts on batteries and it has a very natural sound.
I haven't tried the other two choices.
Hello Alex,

Thank you again Andy!

Studio guitar ace Tommy Tedesco used a guitar tuning (EBGD) for mandolin with the string gauges .009, .012, .017 and .024. I think you could do .11,.13,.18 and .24 for a slightly thicker sound....
Here's another performance from the same concert. "The City Awakens" by Emiel Stopler
