Paper and print costs are killing the small presses.
Guitar Center/Musicians Friend had a 300 and a 600 series Eastman octave this morning. Anyone looking for something under $1000 or $1500 will get a pretty good deal.
Mighty Fine has had that K5 for several years.
Try break it down in phrases, and get those up to speed. Then try stringing two phrases together, and get those up to speed. Then string a third to the first two, etc. I’ve worked on East...
I have to say, it's not so bad ferrying separate cases. I own double mandolin cases also and i have to say, I wish they had wheels on them, kind of like the Mono guitar and bass bags: ...
I've noticed that the selections are different from one coast to the other. I have sold instruments all over the country, but now that I think of it, a lot of them were shipped to the East coast. ...
Nice, Pat, but I only have a few Collings mandolins left. Although TME currently has my last and all time favorite MT2v there. I had COVID late last year and have now developed some issues with my...
Seems like mandolin inventories are waning. I think we are on the cusp of what one dealer described to me as the “Big Retirement” wave.
Someone recently accused me of only shopping at one...
MT models came out well after 2000. If I remember correctly the MT2s and a few MF5s were all you could get, if you could find one until around 2003/2004.

I’m not keen on banning specific tunes or songs but I have to say if you bring a tune or song to a jam you should be able to play and or sing it well enough to lead it so that others can follow along.
Oliver might have an idea on where it landed.
Lots of “wishful pricing” to be seen after the “Covid selling boom.” Alas, I think it’s back to reality.
Hopefully, your luck will hold out.
Depends on how you value your own time and your sanity.
Play with other people. Practice to play better with other people…rinse and repeat.
Larry Smart is making some of the best mandolins available out there. And unlike some of his more elusive brethren, he is happily taking orders and the wait is not years and years.
I have owned more MT2s (and other assorted Collings mandolins and mandolas than most) including several different Euro/Birdseye models in both F, A, varnish and lacquer combinations. I preferred the...
Glenn found a successor and is sort of the gigbag guru emeritus for these folks. Nice bags and they will discount.
I have owned and still own some Blue Heron bags. I'd pay a bit more and get the...

Fatt-dad has the right idea. I am lucky enough to own a lot of terrific mandolins including two Heiden A5s. My feeling is, think about (and enjoy playing) what you have rather than wish you had...

I'm sure that they'd be willing to bend on the price a bit
They lost me with all the renewed lawsuit nonsense.
“Used” in no way indicates what the price should or will be in the future. Don’t get stuck on the mathematics, especially if the builder has decided not to build that particular instrument any more....
