    Re: Goodwill

Hope the guy who bid $501.00 comes to his senses. Then again, with 6 days to go, it will probably get more bids.

Re: Batwing from a bat cave

The SOL on SGW has ivroid top binding. Is it solid woods or laminated???

I like the Harmony Batwing's elevated fretboard. Also, the bolt on neck makes neck resets cheap & easy.

    There is a...

    Re: Speaking Of Stradolins

Is yours all solid woods? Out of the 30+ SOL's I have bought and sold, two were like that P-344 model (both were all solid wood w/ comma f holes, still have one) and they may not be "The Elusive...

Your 1930's all solid wood model with comma shaped F hole ends is about as good as it gets. Is the bridge not in the center of the f-holes???

    Re: Speaking Of Stradolins

Time to buy a top of the line SOL or bring in one of your handmade mandolins. Unless you already brought in a handmade mandolin previously and that's why (by comparison) the SOL seems thin. I could...

Re: Gibson Custom F-5G auction on eBay

Though not as visually stunning as the F-5G, this 2014 Gibson F-9 Mandolin is on ebay (for $4,000 starting bid, no bids yet) Signed By David Harvey www.ebay.com/itm/204731759586 . I wonder which...

    Re: Speaking Of Stradolins

I have to agree, pre-War (so 1930's plus 1940 and 1941) Strad-O-Lin mandolins with comma f-holes are the best (H-2013). However, there is a rare & highly flamed Artist model (H-2014) with a two piece...

    Re: Orpheum B/Strad-O-lin 1950s

That f-hole is an uncommon Stradolin factory variant. I used to own one.

Though there are none in the Stradolin social group picture collection!

    Re: Vintage vs New

Glarry Hard Mandolin Cases are inexpensive from Amazon and Walmart online. Music stores charge more. Also, if you haven't played a 1930's - 1940's Stradolin you are missing out on a real treat.

This Orpheum branded Stradolin www.ebay.com/itm/234233935153 has been on ebay for several years at $375 with no takers. May be laminated (could be why) but it's got new tuners and has had set up work...

Re: Gibson Custom F-5G auction on eBay

The pre-pack check list date is 6-27-2023 & says nothing about "Custom". Can't make heads or tails of the 8 digit serial number that I've been sworn to secrecy not to revile. SR# appears to be too...

When you consider this SOL ( www.ebay.com/itm/166645897642 ) sold for over $100 ($85 + 15 shipping + tax) missing parts. The SOL above is a bargain. Unfortunately, he won't ship it. Also, that bridge...
