In my limited experienceI have had a Kimble A-5 that was outstanding , A Ellis A-5 Special that is pretty and special and a Gibson DH Fern are some of the best I have ever played

Don't most ski areas have lockers inside where for a price you can lock up your stuff while you hit the slopes ?

My 2014 Gibson Fern is as close as I have come to the holy grail of mandolins ,love it .It is my go to mandolin for sure

The F as well as the A are a thing of beauty ,I love them both and own both ,that being said the F is the pick of the litter !

It is a 2018 F4 made by Skip Kelley ,it’s a beautifully made mandolin ,I just feel like. Haven’t found the best string for it yet and was hoping to get some suggestions .
