As I understand it, the original books 1 & 2 were first published in 1925. Those 1925 editions are out of copyright and maybe reproduced at will. Though the editions published in 1956 and 1959 seem...

In this forum we often get videos of individuals. Here is an incredible orchestral performance from Tokyo:
"Main Festival" from "Roman Festivals" (Arranged by Respighi Hideyasu Endo) Arte Tokyo...
On the copyright.gov site, there is an option to "Ask a Copyright Specialist" -- right now it is followed by "Chat is offline" ... but maybe later?

If you search the Library of Congress online catalog, you'll get 35 hits. I cataloged most of these items at LC over the last few years in my attempt as a volunteer to get more of LC's mandolin...
I've become a big fan of MuseScore over the last few months. It is easy to learn (you have to take a quick tutorial as the functions are not particularly intuitive). Google searches work wonderfully...
Allen, I did my best to resist the 1890 Vinaccia at Bernunzio's ... but caved last week. And glad i did. Beautiful instrument in great shape. My luthier is re-glueing a couple soundboard braces...
And while rounding up the usual suspects, let's not forget John Duffey's Bluegrass Life by Stephen Moore and G.T. Keplinger.
I bought a HISCOX LITEFLITE "PRO II" from Elderly for my 1917 A4. Fits very well with lots of room for auxiliary stuff. I haven't traveled with it yet but it seems study.

Typically overcommitted, I only got to the Right Hand workshop with Sebatiaan late in the day. And here is a heads-up for folks: After watching the workshop, I tried to watch the follow-up Q&A...

L & H style A, #2356 (1925). Flat board.
Shiney, isn't it? I very much enjoyed the piece being played as well as the performance. I'm left asking, like one of the unanswered comments, what is this piece?

I recently learned the basics of MuseScore in order to transcribe a poorly printed, difficult-to-read score. Though it took a bit of time, I have to say that I never lacked immediate answers via a...
For those like me who's eagle-eyed orbs are not what they used to be:
I began practicing this piece with the pdf attached to Jim Garber's message above. This was visually difficult but I became...
aliparia, per your request, here are photos of the 1980 Pecoraro I just acquired. Both the sound and the playability put this instrument in a whole other class than what I am accustomed to playing. ...
Tim, this happens to me all the time. Woody Allen once said that God invented time so that everything wouldn't happen all at once. Sometimes on Mandolin Cafe it seems that everything is happening...

Mark, thanks! I look forward to reading this.
BTW, the FON on mine is 11989-10. I assume this means it dates to 1923-1924?
Worth? Not really sure. I bought mine at a Maine thrift store for about $100. It needed a headstock repair which I had done. The luthier I use in MD had one of these in his shop and mentioned...

Still life with computer, Calace, and a growler of homemade carrot wine.
sblock, thanks for the clarification. If the pickguard hasn't deteriorated before now, you say, we can take for granted that it is stable. If deterioration due to "not just right" original...
At age five, I felt old during the first day of kindergarten. At age eleven, I felt old as I threw folded newspapers on to porches as a new paperboy. At age seventeen, I felt old as I crept up the...
