That's a good looking Stradolin, definitely solid top. Fretboard looks great, did you polish the frets ? It should sound great once you string it up. Congrats !!
Looks like the original, adjustable bridge that has indeed been glued together which would explain the low action. Nice looking mandolin, right Eric the matching pickguard and tailpiece cover are a...
Fantastic, thanks Mark.
Gateway Drug to MAS, well said Kevin.
Wow Sue, That is a really nice Stradolin! Like what Jake had to say about it's sound. I took a '40 to Randy Wood a while back and he had the same reaction. Thanks for the post.

This is Blossom. As I don't play well, she prefers to lie on the mandolin.
Not me, I looked at it and think it was a deal for under $ 150 shipped.
Saw him several times in Athens, Ga. late '70s , early '80s. One night in the middle of his show, just him and his guitar, he abruptly quit playing, stood up and sat an old, cheap record player on...
Saw this young man last night, blew me hat in the creek !
Come on up to Asheville, you could play at a different brewery every day for a month and still miss a few. Nice cover of a great song, thanks.
Send it to Randy Wood, he did some work on one of my old Stradolins last year and was very impressed with how it sounded after he worked his magic on it.
Unless the tailpiece cover fits extremely well, if it has one, remove it and wrap it separately. I had a mando badly scratched in shipping by a loose cover.
Thile scares me, so does Nino Schurter, but that don't keep me from riding my mountain bike 3 or 4 times a week and trying to play mandolin @ 72. So welcome back, get that mandolin and embrace it.
Anxious to hear how you get on with it, Jim. I posted my experience on the other, later thread about these
ISIS Music Hall in W A'ville has a bluegrass jam every Tue. night. Jack of the Wood downtown A'ville has a bg and old time jam every week. Pisgah Brewing in Black Mtn. has live music almost every...
The burning question, how does it sound ?
Nice lookin' Strad ! I bought one on eBay a few months ago that had the same bridge and tuners, but didn't they come with an adjustable bridge for the most part ?
These guys are gaining popularity very quickly here. The mandolin player, Josh Carter does a lot of work at the Boys and Girls Club in Brevard teaching music to the kids. Cool bunch of young folks...
Bluegrass jam tonight @ ISIS Music Hall in West Asheville
I know the entire mandolin world has been on the edge of it's collective seat waiting for the skinny on this instrument so here goes. I picked it up yesterday at the P.O. raced home and unpacked it....
Well folks, I just bought it last night so when I get it I will post pics of what's going on with the bridge. The listing states there is no top sinkage so if that's the deal it will go right back to...
Saw Carlo last night in Asheville, N.C. He's in Nashville tonight and I suggest anybody within a 6 hour drive of there to start driving in the next few minutes !!
Saw these guys last nite in Asheville, NC. If you are within driving distance of one of their shows, I highly recommend you go.
