The slashes are most likely downbeats. Play the same chord that was last shown. When it's time to change to a different chord it will print a D or Em, etc.
Here's what 4 measures of the I, IV, V,...
PCypert & BenE, let me know if you're ever in town. Maybe we could pick a little. I've yet to find anybody to play with, but I've heard of a couple of bluegrass jams. Just havn't had time to go...
Scotti, please post an announcement if you put another mp3 on the Cafe. I'll scarf it up!
Elderly's or Just Strings for me, but I'm way out in Abilene
TablEdit is a great program that allows you to play MIDI files (hundreds / thousands available on the web). You can play songs at different speeds and pick which instruments to include in the...
Line Fork is no slouch either. Great work, Scotti!
I heard a story of a virtuoso violinist (a person that plays a violin, which is like a fiddle, but you have to wear a suit to play one). Anyway, he had played a beautiful concert and an admiring fan...
Go with God
I just strung up a new set of flattops. I had TIs on before, and I liked the playability and how they stayed in tune, but the volume just wasn't quite there. They were fine unless I really wanted to...
You're absolutely right, creekwater. Try to relax and have a great evening.
Why do I get the mental image of a sweet little widow that retired from a long career as an English teacher in Vermont sitting at her computer laughing as she pecks out the venomous posts signed by...
We all wish it had been "excepted" instead of accepted
Adios
My kindergartener can take you on a social skills/manners competition, if you're interested in that.
WMD....I thought it was mando-news from Iraq! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
TablEdit can change the key. Just make sure you change ALL measures. When you pull up the box to change, I think it defaults to only the measure that the cursor is currently in. It has a "from" box...
Thank God! I didn't think I could stand it much longer! congrats!
I like to score a grid pattern on my picks with a knife. It is very easy to hold after that. It wears down after a few weeks of playing though, requiring a new pick.
I'll have to try the holes too.
With the full version, you can edit and save your changes. Also, you can import MIDI files and convert them to tab/notation. Of course, you can create your own tabs, notation, MIDI also.
I did try to angle mine back just enough to make it perpendicular to the strings rather than to the top. I don't know if that's correct or not, but it seemed like how it ought to be to me. I think...
Put a scroll on it and take away the black laquer so the pretty wood can actually be seen. I'd get all the fossilized walrus ivory pieces I could get from thunderplucker too -- bridge, nut & truss...
I another post I described my attempt at fitting my bridge as being like a bad haircut: a little more....a little more....Oh! Too much!
I finally got a flush fit, but I removed way more wood than...
I inadvertently improved the tone, volume, and bass on my mando while fitting (in a very amateur way) my bridge. It was kind of like a bad haircut. I kept taking off a little more...little more...oh!...
Jesus grew up working with wood....something to that, I imagine. Probably would have built mandolins if Bluegrass had been invented then.
BTW, when He decided to gather some helpers, who did he go...
