Just caught this group in Missoula, MT. If they are anywhere near, take the time and you will be able to say that you saw them before they became famous.

I have one and while a nice concept, the author above is correct. The sound quality is not great. Consider a similarly priced 'regular' Mando.

I'm a big fan of Givens' mandolins but thought that this was a bit too good to be true. Has anyone thought of contacting his heir apparent and maker of Givens Legacy Instruments to ask his opinion?

Pulled the trigger and bought the Givens. Now if I can only live up to the quality of the instrument. I do practice more than previously now that my mandolin doesn't need tuning every 5 minutes...

I've played the Givens....it is as full, deep and precise a sounding instrument as I have heard. The weber is also sounds great. Truly, it feels like I'm choosing between Ginger and MaryAnn.

The short story ....have the opportunity to buy a mid 80's Givens A6 in great condition or a brand new Weber Yellowstone HT F Style for a similar monetary outlay.
