Re: Post a picture of what's on your bench?

Lovely! Almost too nice to put in the close proximity of rocks in streams and rivers.

Re: Road Trip III - classic Eastman 815/v

Yes, we did have a small amount of success with the approach Mandobar suggests. Every little bit helps.

Re: Road Trip III - classic Eastman 815/v

We've gotten that letter before. Hits you hard without time to save up for it.

We have a woodshed that consists of metal roofing over a wooden frame sitting on the ground in front of a retaining...

Re: Musty Smell in the case and mandolin.

I've never brought anything to a hockey rink, but I do own a (no doubt less powerful) ozone generator and have used it to try to remove mustiness from (non-musical instrument) cases. I did not have a...

Re: Musty Smell in the case and mandolin.

    A couple ideas:

Coffee grounds (dry ones). I got rid of cat pee smell in a room with this one time years ago.
Activated charcoal (tied in a cotton sock). I got rid of cigarette smell in a used...

Re: Why So Few Resonator Mandolins?

Having noodled a bit on an RM1 a few weeks back, I might be interested in one of those Buckets, except that I don't think it's ladylike to drool in an obvious manner :))

  8. Re: Humidity different in same 10x10 room with humidifier in plac

At my house, in the living room where I like to practice, the humidifier is on one end of the room and the woodstove on the other. A fan by the humidifier helped *a lot*.

    Re: Strad-O-Lin T-Shirts!

I have to share any kudos with Avalanche Screen Printing in Hooksett, NH. They did a fantastic job with a somewhat tricky, mostly hand-drawn design. Print on demand can be pretty cool, but IMHO,...

Re: I知 afraid woodshedding has made me worse

For me, even going from one mandolin to a different one takes some adjustment.

Re: I知 afraid woodshedding has made me worse

In a way, I think previously being a guitar player can sometimes be a handicap. As someone who started cold on mandolin, I appreciate the narrower necks because it's easier to fret two courses with...

    Re: NMD - Eastman 514

Wow, you robbed the armrest off the Kentucky? That poor mando, I see it spending more time in the case.
Have fun with the new one, though. It looks nice :mandosmiley:

Re: Why So Few Resonator Mandolins?

I was up there recently and tried that out, as well as an RM1 that he had. Both were very cool and caused a troubling flareup of MAS :mandosmiley:

Re: Know what this is? It keeps staring at me!

For the first time pretty much ever, I'm glad to have propane as a backup to my woodstove :disbelief:

Re: 2-point Orpheum branded Strad-O-lin on eBay

That's the question, isn't it? We know this guys has already turned down a couple of $200 offers. I think the $150 one that Madphingers got was a much better deal.

Thought I'd put the picture out...

I did that too (different search engine), and I spent about 15 minutes or so and didn't find it. Evolution of mandolin. Images. Got way different results. Very good, JB! Higher resolution than that...
