    Re: Stretto humidifier

How often do you normally add water to these? I know it depends on the environment.

How does this compare to the D'Addario case humidifier? https://www.daddario.com/products/accessories/humidification/manual-sponge/small-instrument-humidifier/

Re: A model case for old Gibson

Find the case you like, then check with the manufacturer. They know who returns cases.
  4. Re: Pick Choice on Electric Mandolin vs Acoustic

    Re: Pro Plec 1.5

A great pick for the money, but I prefer Caseine picks. I use it alot with my electric and also practice with it on my other mandos.
  6. Re: Mandolin Sheet music and breakdown: Old Joe Clark

Monroe's solo was basically doubling each note. The Osbourne brothers really made it more jazz-like (swingish) with passing tones. I kinda like the Ricky Scaggs version that used to be online in TEF...
  7. Re: I like the new D'Addario Chris Thile casseine pick (NFI)

Played it last night at an intense rehearsal. Was pleased.
  8. I like the new D'Addario Chris Thile casseine pick (NFI)

It feels good, looks good and reminds me a lot of my favorite Red Bear pick, though this one's little thicker (and I haven't broken it yet). Also, these are a lot easier to get my hands on that the...

Re: Frank Solivan and ToneSlabs picks

They really need to tell us more about what they are actually made of. I'm interested because Frank says they're good, but $45 good? I hope they are.

Re: I Just Bought A Violin

Violinists play the first half of the chord, then the second, hitting all four strings in the process. It's not perfect but it works. You get a "build."

Re: aging fingers just can't cut it anymore

I worry about this myself as I am 63 and care for my Dad who is 94. My fingers have kept up (for how long, I wonder.) but his have given out in a lot of ways. He is very independent for someone his...

Re: Bill Monroe & Gibson F5 Sales Question

Don't have a very specific answer, though the experts here are likely to, but if there would be no Bluegrass music without Bill Monroe, than you have to figure F5s would not be all that popular....

    Re: Casein picks problem

So you can't just flip it and play it back the other way? I've done that with picks that warp.

    Re: Blue Chip v Primetone?

I love my Blue Chip CT55. I have several sculpted Primetones but don't really like the sound or feel. You get what you pay for. My favorite is still a Red Bear, though they are brittle and can break....
