Thanks a lot! in fact, the SBN website was the first one I've checked... It means I'll have to stop by Santa Cecilia next time I'm in Rome :)
The pieces recorded by Martin are also sooo nice!

Dear mandolinists, I'm looking for the piano part of the Sérénade Napolitaine written by J. Pietrapertosa.
A few more data: Sérénade napolitaine : pour mandoline (ou violon) et piano : op. 77 / par...
I'd also recommend the Liuteria Anema e Corde in Naples, I had a Vinaccia and a Salsedo gorgeously (and philologically) restored by them in Naples and shipped to me back to Germany in a super sturdy...
Reviving a very old thread, it seems that Apus was the brand used to sell in Germany the mandolins built by the Neapolitan luthier Giovanni Kasermann. Apus mandolins also rarely have Kasermann's...
And here's another La Corona, clearly inspired by De Meglio, before and after restoration :mandosmiley:

the wooden brace is supposed to be somewhere under the bridge, otherwise the top may sink! :)
Hi Alvaf, the mandolin is certainly German, most probably it was made in Markneukirchen, Saxony. However, it's impossible to identify the maker, but I'd suggest you have a look at Meinel & Herold...
Wonderful! Evviva!!! Actually Puglisi's appear very often in German attics, they were exported in huge quantities to Russia, Bohemia and Germany, both in former GDR cities and central German cities,...
In case you feel like buying another Puglisi... :mandosmiley: https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-musikinstrumente/puglisi/k0c74
Do you mean this one? https://reverb.com/uk/item/50437377-ca-1930s-g-puglisi-reale-figli-bowlback-mandolin
Ok, thanks, I had no idea it's nicknamed like this... Big crack, but not uncommon, Emberghers are so lightly built that they tend to crack a lot, as far as I know ;)
I agree, plus with such a crack on the table... Btw what did you mean by "Florida"?
Hi Poul,
I happen to have the same Embergher Tipo A - Studio, but dating back to 1912, when the address of the workshop was Via delle Carrozze 19, and the label was different from the one you...
To come back to the main question, it's quite common to find restaurants and bars in Napoli where Neapolitan music is still played by touring musicians, you can find many of them also on Instagram...
Hi unholysmoke,
the label has something very unusual: "Pizzofalcone" is here misspelled in "Pizzoia lcone", "Egiziaca" seems to me to be written like "Esiziaca", plus Calaces often bore a...
Apparently it was a German Italian-sounding company by Schuster Brothers, I've owned a Mandola with a stamped crown on the headstock and a very cute Mandolin with the same crown on the headstock plus...
A young talented Italian composer and player is Davide Pancetti, here you can find his music played by himself and by Kozo Onishi:...
Hi mregger, it looks like a German mandolin of the 1910-1920, but does the headstock belong to the same piece of wood of the neck or is it glued to it? Because Neapolitan and Sicilian makers, unlike...
